Vapi Pricing Explained: What an Agency Really Pays per Minute
Vapi pricing broken into platform, model, voice and phone costs from its public page, dated and linked, then compared with RizzDial talk time.

TL;DR: Vapi's checkout page shows a monthly plan price, but that is not the full bill. Every call also carries a platform or hosting fee, a separate charge for the language model, a separate charge for voice and transcription, and a separate charge for phone transport, each billed by a different vendor at a different rate. Add those up and Vapi's own calculator lands around $82 to $129 a month for 1,000 minutes, source linked and dated below, before an agency adds a dialer, a CRM connection, or texting. RizzDial charges AI talk time at 6 to 20 cents a minute, billed for talk time only, with the predictive and power dialer, direct carrier calling through AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, a built in CRM, and iMessage through Beam already in the account.
If you have ever tried to answer "what does Vapi cost" with a single number, you already know the honest answer is "it depends on four separate meters." Vapi is a developer platform for building voice AI agents, and its pricing reflects that: you choose a monthly plan, then pay the model vendor, the voice vendor, the transcription vendor, and the phone carrier each their own rate on top. None of that is unusual for a building-block platform built for developers. It is just rarely spelled out in one place, which is exactly why a GoHighLevel agency quoting a client a flat monthly number keeps getting surprised by the invoice.
This piece breaks Vapi's bill into its actual parts, cites Vapi's own pricing page and docs for every number, and then puts the full agency cost (dialer, CRM, texting, not just the AI) next to RizzDial's one price. We make RizzDial, and if you run ads or have a sales team, it is our pick. The comparison is still built from Vapi's own published numbers, each one linked and checked October 19, 2026.
What Does Vapi Actually Charge per Minute?
Vapi's pricing page, checked October 19, 2026, splits the bill into a monthly success package and a usage layer. The usage layer has two parts: a flat $0.05 a minute hosting fee Vapi charges directly on every plan, and four separate, pass-through meters that bill per minute of call time, each tied to a different underlying vendor the agency can choose:
| Cost component | What it covers | Rate (per minute) | Vendor named on Vapi's page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hosting / platform | Vapi's own compute to run the call | $0.05/min on every plan | Vapi |
| Transcription | Turning the caller's speech into text | $0.0095 to $0.0099/min | Deepgram |
| Model / intelligence | The LLM generating the agent's responses | $0.0077 to $0.0452/min | OpenAI |
| Voice | Turning the agent's text back into speech | $0.0146 to $0.0238/min | ElevenLabs |
| Phone transport | Carrying the actual phone call | $0.0055 to $0.014/min | Twilio, Telnyx, or Vonage, your choice |
Source: vapi.ai/pricing, checked October 19, 2026. Vapi's own FAQ on that page states the hosting fee bills on every plan: "Usage is your Vapi hosting fee ($0.05/min) plus the model costs for each minute your agents run." Core, Pro and Premier add their monthly success package fee on top of that hosting fee and the four pass-through meters; they do not replace it (next section). Transport is listed separately by provider: Twilio inbound at $0.008/min, Twilio outbound at $0.014/min, Vonage at $0.00814/min, and Telnyx at $0.0055/min.
Add the midpoints of those ranges together and a single AI minute on Vapi runs somewhere in the $0.08 to $0.13 range once every meter is counted, which lines up with the worked example on Vapi's own page: its built-in calculator estimates roughly $82 to $129 a month for 1,000 minutes of usage. That number is Vapi's own estimate, not ours, and it already assumes you have picked specific model, voice, and transport vendors at specific tiers. Choose a pricier model or a premium voice and the real number climbs past that range.
The part worth sitting with: none of those four meters is optional. A call with no transcription can't understand the caller, a call with no model has no agent, a call with no voice can't speak, and a call with no transport never happens. Vapi's pricing model gives you a choice of vendor at each layer, which is genuinely useful for a developer who wants to swap in a cheaper transcriber, but it also means every rate card you see quoted ("starting at $0.05 a minute") is describing one of four meters, not the bill.
What Do Vapi's Monthly Plans Add on Top of Usage?
Underneath the per-minute meters sits a monthly plan that gates how many calls can run at once and how much support comes with it. Per vapi.ai/pricing, checked October 19, 2026:
| Plan | Monthly price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| No Success Package | Free to start, $5 in free credits | 4 concurrent calls, 2 organizations, 1 phone number, 14-day data retention, $0.05/min hosting billed directly |
| Core | $29/month | 10 concurrent calls, 5 included phone numbers, 30-day retention |
| Pro | $999/month minimum (10% of hosting fee) | 30 concurrent calls, 10 included phone numbers, 180-day retention, 99% uptime SLA |
| Premier | Custom, direct sales only | Dedicated support team, 99.9% uptime SLA, 1-hour priority response |
Source: vapi.ai/pricing, checked October 19, 2026. A handful of add-ons sit outside those tiers too: HIPAA compliance is listed at $2,000/month, extra concurrency beyond a plan's included amount is $10 per line per month, and additional organizations are $20 per organization per month on the same page.
Notice the Pro plan's price is not actually flat. "10% of hosting fee, $999/mo minimum" means the monthly number keeps climbing as call volume climbs, on top of the four usage meters already running underneath it. For an agency planning a fixed per-client price, that is a second variable cost to model, not a ceiling.
What Does an Agency Still Have to Add Beyond the AI Minute?
Every number above answers "what does the AI conversation cost." None of it answers "what does running an agency's calling operation cost," because Vapi is a voice AI platform, not a dialer, a CRM, or a texting tool. A GoHighLevel agency reselling calling typically needs to source each of these separately:
- A dialer for the human reps. Vapi places and receives AI agent calls; it does not include a predictive or power dialer for a sales team working a list by hand. That is a separate tool, a separate bill, and a separate login for reps to learn.
- Outbound phone number strategy. Vapi's included phone numbers come through its own infrastructure or your choice of Twilio, Telnyx, or Vonage. Number rotation, reputation monitoring, and local presence matching are not covered on the pricing page above; budget for them as a separate line item if your campaign needs them.
- CRM sync. Vapi's GoHighLevel tool documentation covers contact lookup, contact creation, availability checking, and event creation for the AI conversation itself. Routing results into a CRM a sales team actually works from, with custom fields, pipeline stages, and transcript storage, is either built with Vapi's documented tools or wired by hand with middleware. Our breakdown of wiring Vapi into GoHighLevel versus a native setup walks through exactly what that build involves and where it tends to break.
- Texting. Vapi is a voice platform. Follow-up SMS or iMessage after a call is a separate product with its own account and its own bill.
- Nurture after the first call. A single AI minute rate says nothing about what happens to a lead that doesn't convert on call one. Agencies running a real pipeline need a follow-up cadence running for months, not just a call cost.
None of that makes Vapi worse at what it's built for: a flexible, developer-controlled voice agent stack where you pick your own model, voice, and transport vendor. It does mean the per-minute number on the pricing page is the start of an agency's real monthly bill, not the end of it. Our wider look at AI dialer pricing across agency tiers covers how these added line items typically stack up once carrier fees, compliance, and CRM integration enter the picture.
How Does RizzDial's Price Compare?
RizzDial folds the pieces above into one account rather than four separate vendor bills. AI talk time runs 6 to 20 cents a minute, billed for talk time only (a 2 minute call at $0.10/minute costs $0.20), and that price is for a platform that already includes the dialer, the CRM, carrier calling, and texting, not just the AI conversation.
| Vapi | RizzDial | |
|---|---|---|
| AI minute cost | Platform/hosting fee plus separate model, voice, transcription, and transport meters; Vapi's own estimate is about $82 to $129/month for 1,000 minutes | 6 to 20 cents a minute, billed for talk time only |
| Monthly plan | Free to start, then $29/month (Core) or $999/month minimum (Pro), scaling with usage | Pay as you go, with flexible seat based options |
| Predictive and power dialer for reps | Not included; Vapi is an AI voice agent platform, not a rep dialer | Included: predictive, power (1 line), parallel (up to 10 lines), AI voice agent calls, and click-to-call in one account |
| Phone transport | Bring your own Twilio, Telnyx, or Vonage account, billed separately | Calls sent directly through AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile |
| Voicemail detection | Not part of the pricing page; configure via your own logic or a transport provider's detection | RizzDial's proprietary voicemail detection runs in 0.66 milliseconds, built to connect reps to live humans faster (based on RizzDial platform data, 2026) |
| CRM | Documented GoHighLevel tools for the AI conversation; a full CRM is a separate product | Built-in CRM, plus connections to GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce and others |
| Texting after the call | Not included; source a separate SMS or messaging product | iMessage built in through Beam, including two-way sync |
| Nurture after the first touch | Not part of the platform | 365-day nurture built into the account |
| Bring your own voice provider | N/A, this is the core product | Supported: bring your own Vapi account (or other provider) and your own LLM |
| Agent connectivity | REST API and webhooks for your own integrations | MCP and OpenAPI, so Claude, Codex and other AI agents can connect directly |
| White label | Not part of the core product | White label and resale supported |

What Would a 1,000-Minute Month Actually Cost on Each?
Run the same 1,000 minutes through both and the shape of the bill looks different, not just the total.
On Vapi: Vapi's own calculator puts the usage meters at roughly $82 to $129 for 1,000 minutes, source linked and dated above. Add the Core plan's $29 a month if you're past the free tier, and you're paying the platform somewhere around $111 to $158 before a single rep dialer, CRM sync, or texting tool enters the picture. Add a separate dialer subscription for your human reps, a CRM integration if GoHighLevel's documented tools don't cover your fields, and a texting product, and the real monthly number for an agency running even one mid-size client is several multiples of that AI-only figure.
On RizzDial: 1,000 minutes of AI talk time at 6 to 20 cents a minute runs $60 to $200, and that figure already includes the dialer your reps use for manual and predictive calling, the carrier connection through AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, the built-in CRM, and iMessage follow-up through Beam. There is no separate transcription bill, no separate voice vendor bill, and no separate dialer subscription to add on top, because they are the same account.
The comparison is not that Vapi's per-minute AI cost is high; several of its individual meters, taken alone, are inexpensive. The comparison is that Vapi's number only covers the AI conversation, while an agency's real question is the cost of running the whole operation: reps dialing, AI picking up overflow, a CRM that holds the result, and a text that goes out afterward. Price the whole operation before comparing a single meter.
Which Setup Makes Sense for Which Agency?
An agency with a developer on staff who wants to choose a specific model, a specific voice vendor, and a specific transport provider for a tightly scoped AI agent has a real reason to build on Vapi directly. You get granular control over every layer of the stack, and the four separate meters mean you can shop each one down independently as volumes grow.
Most GoHighLevel agencies reselling calling to multiple clients are not trying to optimize four separate vendor bills; they're trying to get a sales team dialing, an AI agent catching overflow and after-hours calls, a CRM that holds the result, and a follow-up text that goes out, all under one login they can hand a client access to. That's the profile RizzDial is built for: pay as you go AI talk time at 6 to 20 cents a minute, with the predictive and power dialer, direct carrier calling, built-in CRM, and Beam iMessage already in the same account, plus MCP and OpenAPI if a developer on the team wants to connect Claude or another AI agent to it later.
What Are the FAQs About Vapi Pricing?
Is Vapi's advertised per-minute price the full cost of a call?
No. Vapi's pricing page lists a platform or hosting fee plus three separate, pass-through meters for transcription, the language model, and voice, and a fourth for phone transport through your chosen carrier. Vapi's pricing page, checked October 19, 2026, estimates the combined usage cost at roughly $82 to $129 a month for 1,000 minutes, before any monthly plan fee or agency tooling on top.
Does Vapi charge for a dialer, a CRM, or texting?
Not as part of the AI minute price. Vapi documents GoHighLevel tools for the AI conversation itself, such as contact lookup and availability checking, but a predictive or power dialer for human reps, a full CRM, and a texting product are separate tools an agency sources on its own. RizzDial includes the dialer, a built in CRM, and iMessage through Beam in the same account as the AI talk time.
What does RizzDial charge per minute compared to Vapi?
RizzDial bills AI talk time at 6 to 20 cents a minute, for talk time only, with no separate meters for the model, the voice, the transcription, or the phone transport. Vapi's bill is split across those four components plus a monthly plan; see the breakdown table above for the components and their rates as published on vapi.ai/pricing, checked October 19, 2026.
Can an agency use its existing Vapi account inside RizzDial?
Yes. RizzDial supports bringing your own Vapi account, or another voice provider account, along with your own LLM, so switching platforms does not necessarily mean abandoning an existing voice setup. Confirm the exact configuration with RizzDial's onboarding team before migrating a live campaign.
Why does Vapi's Pro plan price change month to month?
Vapi lists the Pro plan at "$999/mo minimum," described as 10% of the hosting fee. That means the monthly plan price scales up with call volume rather than staying flat, on top of the per-minute model, voice, transcription, and transport meters that also bill separately. Model that variable cost before quoting a client a flat monthly number.
Does RizzDial have a monthly plan fee like Vapi's Core or Pro tiers?
RizzDial is pay as you go, with flexible seat based options, and AI talk time billed at 6 to 20 cents a minute for talk time only. Confirm current plan structure and seat options with the RizzDial team for your agency's specific setup, since this guide is not RizzDial's live pricing page.
